A celebrant provides an alternative to a registrar, vicar, or other religious officiant. We tailor ceremonies exactly to your wishes, This can be at any location and at any time. Please note that the legal registration of the marriage must be completed separately (see details below).
That's easy! You’ll just drop in to the Register Office to get your legal paperwork done before having your gorgeous ceremony with me!
The least expensive way is to ask for a service called a Statutory Declaration. This is the both of you and two witnesses in an office (not a ceremony room) saying your vows to each other and signing the register. And that's it! This is usally costs £46 plus £70 to give Notice to Marry, but check the prices in your area.
You could opt for the more expensive option of a ceremony in one of the Registration Service’s ceremony rooms.
You can go to any regional Registration Service to do your statutory declaration. So, if you are marrying in Bedfordshire but live in Hertfordshire, you can do the legal bit there if you like. Every county has to legally oblige this service to you in one of its offices. For example, in Bedfordshire it is only the Bedford office that offers this service.
It's just a morning of doing the all paperwork before you hand over to me to lead the big day!
Everyone who intends to marry legally has to do this.
Book an appointment with the Registrar who will request to see your ID to prove you are who you say you are and that you are legally free to marry.
If you’ve been married before you need to show your Decree Absolute. Notice can be given up to a year before your legal ceremony or as little as a month and a half beforehand.
I recommend giving Notice to Marry at least three months before your legal ceremony and that can be done in the nearest registry office to where you live.
Anywhere you please. As it’s not a legal ceremony there are absolutely no restrictions. You can have a celebrant led ceremony at a venue that is licensed for weddings or, one that isn’t. Have you considered a how about a beautiful barn, the village hall, the pub or your even in own back garden if that's what you'd like.
Yes it is. From Bible readings to a Buddhist chanting and rituals, I am happy to accommodate.
Oh Yes!! Music makes a wedding fabulous! You can have whatever music like, including a sing-a-long or flashmobs!
Absolutely, from poems to guests own words, everything is possible.
OMG Yes, I love a hearing your personal vows! They bring a tear to everyone's eyes.
It is totally a real wedding, just not a legal one! Your guests will not have a clue, unless you tell them! you're just separating the paperwork from the celebration… and that makes for a fabulous ceremony!
Don't worry, I will go where ever I am needed. I am based in the heart of England in Bedfordshire, so getting to other places is not too much trouble for me.
Either email me at hello@anitascottcelebrant.co.uk or give me a ring on 07746995606. Alternatively, I can set up a Zoom or WhatsApp video call with you.
It helps if you have a venue and date in mind (although not essential at this stage). I will ask a £250 booking fee to secure the date and add you and your other half into my diary, and then I'll get in touch in plenty of time to plan and prepare your ceremony. (£100 is non-refundable, £150 is refundable up to 6 months before the ceremony date and non-refundable thereafter.)
